A degree-qualified nutritionist on Auckland’s North Shore.
In a world with overwhelming access to information, advice, influence and ideas, it can be hard to know who to turn to when it comes to understanding your health and well-being.
That’s why my job is to help you cut through the noise, with tailored advice, specific to your challenges.
Growing up on Waiheke Island, we kept life simple. I like to come back to these values, helping my clients learn to slow down, enjoy the small moments, practice self-care and kindness, and listen to what our body is telling us. Using mindfulness and intuitive eating techniques, I aim help you appreciate and enjoy food rather than experience guilt and confusion around food and eating.
As a degree qualified nutritionist, I can help you solve nutritional concerns with sound, research-based advice that is diet free and suited to your lifestyle. I take a client-first approach. That means I get to know you, your health goals and your specific challenges first. Then we work in partnership, creating a realistic plan that puts you in the driver’s seat towards achieving your goals.
Having worked in the health industry as a massage therapist for many years, I take a compassionate and non-judgemental approach. What’s more, I know what it’s like to struggle to find the right answers. I’ve had my own experiences trying to lose weight, and when I tried to seek out good long-term solutions, I realised that there were few options that truly addressed the real issues.
I decided to study an extramural paper called Introduction to Nutrition through Massey University, just out of interest, and it had me hooked. Now, I love everything ‘nutrition’, having since completed a degree with a double major in Human Nutrition and Psychology.
It’s important to me now to help other people see that the answers don’t lie in a fad diet or in a bottle, but in making simple changes that can have a huge impact over time. When we take away fear, judgement or shame, we can focus on problem solving that creates lasting change.
I love food, and want to help others see it as the nourishment we need to live a great life. Food plays a big part in helping me get the most out of the things I enjoy – hiking in our amazing country, sharing meals with family and friends, experimenting with new recipies and growing my own vegies. Creating this balance is important to me, and is an underlying principle in the advice that I provide to you.
I have a genuine desire to help clients feel and be well, so they can live their best life. If you’d like to improve your health with confidence, get in touch, I’d love to discuss how I can help.
